Fun and Entertainment

The Club rooms provide a venue for regular entertainment, so follow up your fine Friday night meal in the Fern Room with a pleasant evening enjoying the talents of our regular guest artists, whilst relaxing, and having a quiet drink from the bar.

On the first Friday of every month, the music of the Rhythm Kings features. This group covers the pop music of all eras, so get into some nostalgia, sing along, or even have a dance if you have a mind to.

On the second and fourth Fridays, David, with acoustic guitar in tow, will entertain you with his wide repertoire of ballads and pop songs, sprinkled with a smattering of comedy. Both evenings have no entry fee, and commence at 7.00pm.

On the third Friday of the month, throw on the flannies, the wide belt and the boots, and get into some YEE-HAH! Line Dancing. Learn new steps, get fit, and above all, have fun for only $10.00 entry, commencing at 7.30.

2012 calendar of "Dinner & Show" Functions.

It looks like being a great year for our always popular Saturday Night Dinner and Show. We have a number of return performers, and some new acts also. At  $28 per person providing a two-course meal, plus the entertainment, Ferntree Gully Bowling Club's Dinner & Show represents excellent value.

Greater detail of each event will be provided on the Events Calendar Page shortly before the event (remember, click on the relevant date on the calendar, and you will be taken to the information.) In summary, however, the entertainers will be -:

  • 17/3/2012 -  Sentimental Journey, A trip down memory lane with songs from all eras, interlaced with smatterings of comedy. A good night for a sing-along, and a laugh.
  • 5/5/12 - Leading Ladies - Experienced song and dance entertainer, Margaret Dennis will take you through a couple of hours of - you guessed it - song and dance covering popular music of all eras made famous by the great female vocalists of the times..
  • 16/6/12 - Sinatra Ater Dark - Hans de Zil makes his third appearance at the Club performing covers of songs made famous by Ol' Blue Eyes and his contemporaries. Always a popular night.
  • 8/9/12 - Blasts from the Past - experienced singer and musician Brian Muldoon, will take you through a night of songs that were popular in the 50's, 60, and 70's. Sing along, or dance along with Brian as he revisits these old classics.
  • 20/10/12 - A Tribute to Neil Diamond. You've heard of a Hot August Night? Well, this is a Cold October Night when Neil Diamond cover artist, Tony, will entertain with a wide selection of songs written and sung by the great modern day crooner.
  • 1/12/12 - A Tribute to Cliff Richard - Constant visitor to the Bowling Club, Col Perkins will entertain you with a selection of songs made popular over the fifty year career of this great British entertainer.
