Bowls

Paths to the Finals

With many of Ferntree Gully's Pennant Teams in the running for a Finals berth, it is proposed that a synopsis of the final games in each Division will be provided here, once the ladders are available from Round 14. These synopses (synopsises??) will be updated after each of the final four rounds. Naturally, we will be aiming for 4 wins each, but it is felt that it would be useful to see what the immediate dangers are. Of course these opinions will be those of the website management, so any relationship to fact may be purely coincidental.

Tuesday Pennant - After Round 16

  • FIRST TEAM  Currently 5th on ladder 12 points behind 4th,  4 points ahead of 6th

  • Mooroolbark (4th) are vulnerable with two tough games. Need a big win on Tuesday to threaten.
  •
  • SECOND TEAM Currently 1st on ladder, 10 points ahead of 2nd, Seems to be a battle for top spot.
  • To Play -   Ringwood (H-8th), Montmorency (A -5th)
  • Danger:Croydon (2nd) play  Donvale (3rd),Healesville (4th)
  • Congratulations to the Seconds. On paper, a reasonably easy run home to secure top spot. No surprise losses, team.
  •
  • THIRD TEAM Currently 8th on the ladder, 4 behind 7th, 6 behind 6th,9 points behind 5th, 15 points behind 4th and 16 points behind 3rd.

  •
  • FOURTH TEAM: Currently 4th on ladder, 23 points behind 3rd, 28 points ahead of 5th.
  • Top two,  seem to be settled, and team have skipped away from 5th. 3rd is mathematically possible.
  • To Play:  Greensborough (H-10th), Heatherdale (A-3rd)
  • The Threat:  There doesn't seem to be one, but two games to go.
  • Heatherdale (3rd) play  Chirnside (8th ) FTG (4th)
  • Good win when one was needed. Probably now secure in 4th. Congratulations.
